Streaming Services Military Discount 2026: Best Deals for Veterans and Active Duty

streaming services with military discounts
Key Takeaways
  • YouTube TV now offers a verified military discount — $67.99/month for 12 months (regular price $82.99) via ID.me verification, saving $180/year
  • Hulu offers 40% off the ad-supported plan: $5.99/month vs. $9.99/month through the Exchange or SheerID
  • Paramount+ offers up to 50% off — the deepest single-service streaming discount available to military members
  • Peacock Premium is available at $3.99/month (vs. $10.99) for 12 months through SheerID — over 60% savings
  • Disney+ offers 25% off annual plans through the Exchange; military families who deploy frequently benefit most from the offline download feature
  • Most discounts require verification through The Exchange, SheerID, ID.me, or GovX — keep your information current

Cord-cutting has become the norm for military families — streaming is more practical than cable when you’re moving every two years or spending months deployed. The good news is that several major streaming services now recognize this and offer genuine military discounts, not just one-month trials.

This guide covers every verified military streaming discount in 2026, how to claim each one, and which services make the most sense depending on your situation — whether you’re stateside, deployed, or stationed overseas.

YouTube TV

YouTube TV now offers a military discount of $67.99/month for 12 months — a $15/month savings off the regular $82.99 price. That’s $180 saved over the course of a year. Verification is through ID.me. This discount is available to active duty military, veterans, and qualifying family members.

YouTube TV provides over 100 live TV channels including all major local affiliates, sports networks (ESPN, FS1, NFL Network), and news. It includes unlimited DVR storage with no expiration on recordings and supports up to three simultaneous streams by default, with the option to add additional streams.

YouTube TV also carries NFL Sunday Ticket, which requires a separate subscription. Military members on the discount plan can add Sunday Ticket at the regular price.

Hulu

Hulu offers 40% off the ad-supported plan for military members, veterans, and family members. At $5.99/month vs. the standard $9.99/month, this is one of the most accessible streaming deals available. Verification is through The Exchange or SheerID.

Hulu’s ad-supported tier includes the full on-demand library plus live TV add-ons at additional cost. If you primarily want on-demand content — current TV shows including ABC, NBC, and Fox programs, original series, and a deep film library — the ad-supported Hulu plan at the military price is an excellent value.

The discount applies to the base Hulu with ads plan. The ad-free upgrade and Hulu + Live TV are separate and may not carry the same discount rate.

Peacock

Peacock offers qualified military members a Premium subscription for $3.99/month for 12 months — compared to the regular price of $10.99/month. This is over 60% savings and one of the highest percentage discounts of any streaming service for military members. Verification is through SheerID.

Peacock Premium includes NBC content, Bravo, MSNBC, live sports (Premier League soccer, WWE, Big Ten sports), and a large back-catalog of films and TV series. For veterans who follow Premier League soccer or college sports, Peacock’s live sports coverage at this price point is particularly strong.

Paramount+

Paramount+ offers up to 50% off — the single deepest streaming discount percentage available to the military community. Verification is through SheerID. The discount applies to the Essential plan at $8.99/month, bringing the military price to approximately $4.49/month.

Paramount+ includes content from CBS, Nickelodeon, Showtime, MTV, BET, and Paramount Studios. Live CBS local channels are available on the Premium tier. For sports coverage, Paramount+ carries NFL on CBS games and some UEFA Champions League matches.

Disney+

Disney+ offers 25% off the annual plan for military members, veterans, and family members, verified through The Exchange. The discount applies to the annual plan, which is currently priced at $159.99/year — bringing the military price to approximately $120/year, or $10/month. The annual plan is ad-free and includes Dolby Atmos where available.

The annual plan’s offline download feature is particularly valuable for deployed service members or those in areas with limited connectivity. Content from Marvel, Pixar, Star Wars, National Geographic, and Disney Animation can all be downloaded for offline viewing.

Note: the 25% discount applies to the annual plan only, not the monthly subscription.

Fubo

Fubo is the only live TV streaming service to offer an ongoing military discount. Verified through GovX, military members receive $10 off per month for the first two months. Fubo starts at $79.99/month after discount period.

Fubo’s strength is sports coverage — it carries the broadest selection of regional sports networks and specialty sports channels of any live TV streaming service. It’s the best choice for veterans who follow local sports teams, international soccer, or niche sports. Fubo does not carry Turner-owned channels (TBS, TNT, CNN, HGTV), which is worth noting before subscribing.

MLB.TV

During baseball season, MLB.TV typically offers a military discount. In 2025, active-duty military and veterans received up to 35% off an MLB.TV subscription with online verification. The discount applies to yearly subscriptions covering all teams or a single team. Check back during the 2026 baseball season — this discount is seasonal and must be redeemed during the active promotion window. Verification methods vary year to year.

Pandora

Pandora offers a discount on their Premium services for the military community. Pandora Premium is an ad-free streaming music service with on-demand listening. The discount percentage varies — check Pandora’s official military benefits page for the current offer and verification process.

Services Without Military Discounts

Not every major streaming platform offers military pricing. As of May 2026:

Want updates when benefit rates change?

Join thousands of service members who get our free weekly briefing.

  • Netflix — does not offer a military or veteran discount
  • Amazon Prime Video — does not offer a military discount (though Prime itself occasionally offers discounted rates for government employees)
  • Apple TV+ — no military discount (Apple does offer 10% off hardware and accessories)
  • HBO Max / Max — no military discount
  • ESPN+ — no standalone military discount – bundle it with Disney+ or Hulu to apply a discount

For these services, the best approach is to watch for promotional pricing, bundle deals with internet providers, or family plan sharing where available. Check with your wireless carrier like T-Mobile for streaming bundles and deep discounts.

Free Streaming for Military Members

Beyond discounted services, several free options are available specifically to the military community:

Armed Forces Network (AFN): Free TV and audio streaming for military members stationed overseas. Service members must register to get a signal decoder. In March 2022, AFN launched the AFN Go app, which allows members to stream music, news, talk radio programming, and local information to internet-connected computers or Apple and Android mobile devices.

Military OneSource and DoD MWR Libraries: Military personnel and dependents have access to a variety of free content through these channels, including streaming services for documentaries and educational content. DoD libraries also offer options to stream audiobooks, music, and rent e-books.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do streaming military discounts apply to family members?

Most do. Hulu, Disney+, Paramount+, and YouTube TV all extend their military discounts to qualifying family members. The specific definition of “family member” varies — most use either the Exchange’s definition (eligible Exchange shoppers) or SheerID/ID.me’s verification standards. In most cases, spouses and dependents of active duty or veterans qualify.

Can I stack streaming discounts on top of each other?

Generally no — you can’t stack a military discount with another promotional offer on the same service. However, you can hold discounted subscriptions across multiple services simultaneously. For example, you could have Hulu at the military rate and Peacock at the military rate at the same time.

What verification do I need for streaming military discounts?

Most services use one of four verification platforms: The Exchange (for Exchange-eligible customers), SheerID, ID.me, or GovX. You’ll need a military ID, DD-214, VA letter, or equivalent documentation depending on the platform. Creating an account with each verification service before shopping can speed up the process.

Are streaming discounts available for veterans or only active duty?

Most major streaming discounts extend to veterans, not just active duty. Hulu, Disney+, Paramount+, Peacock, and YouTube TV all include veterans in their eligibility criteria. MLB.TV historically offers discounts to both. Active-duty-only restrictions are the exception rather than the rule in the streaming category.
